I work a full time job, 40 hours a week sitting in front of a computer screen. Up until recently, I was married with two beautiful daughters, now I am a single mother with two beautiful daughters. I am a normal person, I love to sing in my car with the windows rolled up (acoustics are better there) and I LOVE embarrassing my older daughter by dancing when we are at the red lights (the younger one isn't there yet, she still thinks I'm cool). But on Friday night, I start my second, part time job...
"Good Evening, My Name is Ellie J. and I will be your Relationship Enhancement Specialist for the evening, that sounds so much better than Dildo Dealer." That is how I begin every party. And yet, you can probably talk to the hundreds of women I have done parties for and they will all still refer to me as their Dildo Dealer...
I have owned and operated my own Romance Business for a few years now. It is not what I thought I would be doing when I grew up. It is not what I thought I would be doing a few years ago! But I was drawn in! Could it be because of the money? The discounts on products? The sexual perks? Okay, I won't lie to you.. it was all of the above. :-)
I went to my first "Ladies Night In" and laughed with all the other ladies. When I went in the "ordering room" (a private and confidential room where I got to place my personal order) I was shocked when the consultant said I would be good at this... OH MY GAWD!! I WAS A MOTHER, A WIFE, A DAUGHTER!! I cannot sell DILDOS for a living!! Besides I cannot even SAY the
"C" word (get your mind out of the gutter, I meant "clitoris"). But I did have a really good time and asked her to have a party at my house. With over 25 women in my little house, we blew the roof off with our laughter. The consultant had a way of talking to us all whether we were the "Vixens" or the "Virgins" that we all responded to. She also had a way of opening us all up, we were talking together about sex, our experiences and our questions. It was really neat, I had never talked about my sex life like that. I grew up in a household, where my mom and dad had sex exactly two times (because I had a sibling) and even then, my mom probably just rolled in it!
Once the party was over, we all went through one at a time through the ordering room (once again for confidentiality reasons) and I went last cause I was the hostess (which also meant I got FREE products! YAY!!) And I asked the consultant how SHE did.... She told me that she made $999 that night. "What??!! My party was $999, that is AWESOME!!" "No," she told me, "I MADE $999 tonight." Uh... SOLD! Actually, it still took me a year to sign up to be a consultant for the Romance Company.
But driving home tonight from work (my "regular" job), I thought to myself....When people find out what my second job is, do they automatically think, "Oh she must be a nympho."? Maybe they think I am a party girl? Would anyone be interested in my "Alter Ego"? Would anyone be interested in my "confessions" as a Dildo Dealer? So that is how this blog started. Just a day in the life of a Relationship Enhancement Specialist ;-)
